Stephen Hodder gained his Distinction in the Bachelor of Architecture degree at the University of Manchester and became a member of the Royal Institute of British Architects in 1982. In 1992 he formed Hodder Associatesa practice that has now won over major thirty awards.
Stephen has been President of the Manchester Society of Architects, RIBA North West Region Chairman, and a member of the RIBA Awards committee. He is a Nationally
Elected Member of RIBA Counci and is currently Vice President Membership (Nations and Regions). He sits on Design Review Panels for both CABE and Places Matter!
Awarded an MBE for services to architecture in the Queens Birthday Honours List, 1998, he received an honorary doctorate in 2006 from the Manchester Metropolitan University for his contribution to architecture and won the Roses Design Award of 'Architect of the Year' in the same year.

John Slater was originally a pure mathematician at Oxford and London but moved initially into computing service provision at London, Salford and Bath and then into Computer Science at Kent where he became a Pro Vice-Chancellor. He has twice been a JISC member and was also a member of its two predecessors. For a number of years he was responsible for development of national software policy, and of shared procurement models.
John developed and piloted the National Student Survey for HEFCE. He has been involved in a number of initiatives in the use of technology in teaching including the Computers in Teaching Initiative (CTI), the Teaching and Learning Technology Programme (TLTP) and the ill-fated UK e-University (UKeU). He is semi-retired but works for ALT as its acting Director of Development. His main hobby is acronymology.
